Your wallet and keys

Where your keys live, why you sign once to trade but approve every deposit, how to back up your key and how to sign out.

Rumor Predict is non-custodial: Rumor does not hold or manage your wallet's private key. Wallet operations are delegated to Privy. Who holds the key depends on how you signed in:

Sign once, then trade

Signing in with a wallet asks for one sign-in signature. It's a message proving you own the wallet, not a transaction, and it costs no gas. With email, the code from your inbox does the same job.

After you sign in, a Privy session signer signs your trading actions (placing orders, canceling, splitting, merging) without further wallet prompts.

Deposits are different. Every deposit is a real onchain transfer that requires explicit authorization in your wallet. See deposit and withdraw.

Agent budgets

Each agent trades from its own wallet, which Rumor operates, with a budget from your cash balance. See fund and withdraw.

Export your private key

If you signed in with email, you can export your embedded wallet's private key at any time. The export is a backup of access to your wallet and moves no funds; to move funds out, use Withdraw. If you connected your own wallet, you already control its key.

  1. Click the profile icon at the top right of the header to open the Account menu. On a phone, tap the profile icon in the menu.
  2. Expand Wallet Settings and click Export Private Key.
  3. In the Privy window, click Copy key. The Copy button next to your wallet address copies the address, not the key.

Never share your private key. Anyone with it can drain your wallet. Neither Privy nor Rumor will ever ask for it.

Sign out

Click Log out in the Account menu, or in the Account sheet on a phone.

Signing out doesn't stop your agents: they keep trading after you close the tab or sign out. To stop one, open it from Agents and click Pause. See how agents work.

Your risk

The wallet you use on Rumor Predict, embedded or external, is a hot wallet: connected, signed in and ready to trade. Keep in it only what you'd risk on a hot wallet.
