Get started
Sign in with email or a wallet, deposit pUSD and place your first trade.
Four steps take you from your first visit to your first position. Use a computer: market pages need a larger screen than a phone (see Rumor Predict on your phone).
1. Sign in
Open predict.rumor.trade and click Login in the top-right of the header. A Privy sign-in window opens with two paths:
| Path | What happens | Your wallet |
|---|---|---|
| Continue with email | Enter your address, then the 6-digit code Privy emails you. | A Privy embedded wallet, created on the spot. You can export a backup of its key. |
| Connect wallet | Pick your wallet (MetaMask, OneKey, Phantom and others), approve the connection request, then sign the sign-in signature. It's an offchain message, not a transaction, so it costs no gas. | Your own self-custodial wallet. Rumor and Privy never see the key. |
With several wallet extensions installed, connect only one at a time, or the request can open in the wrong wallet.
Once you're signed in, your balance and Deposit appear in the header, and trading needs no further wallet prompts. Your wallet and keys explains how this works. Your Rumor Predict account is separate from Rumor Perps.
2. Deposit
You trade in pUSD on Polygon, Polymarket's collateral token. Click Deposit in the header. The window, run by Glide, converts tokens from other chains into pUSD. Pick a path:
- Wallet: any token in a wallet you connect.
- Deposit from anywhere: a QR code and address for sending from an exchange or another wallet.
- Coinbase: buy with USD or ETH from a Coinbase account.
The pUSD lands in your cash balance. Every deposit is a real onchain transfer that you sign, with the network fee paid in the source chain's native asset; Rumor Predict charges nothing. See deposit and withdraw.
3. Find a market
Click Explore in the header; it's the home screen. It opens in Events view: click an event to expand its markets, or switch to Markets. Then click a market row to open its market page. See find markets.
4. Place an order
The trade panel is on the right of the market page.
- Pick Yes or No at the top of the page.
- Stay on Buy and Market (the defaults).
- Type an amount in dollars, such as $5, or click a preset amount.
- Click the action button. It reads Buy Yes or Buy No.
A Market order fills what the order book offers right away and cancels the rest (FAK, the default). If the button reads Login to trade, Preparing account or Insufficient funds instead, see market and limit orders.
Your new position appears under the Positions tab below the chart and in your portfolio. When the market resolves, each winning share pays $1 in pUSD to your cash balance automatically. There's nothing to claim.
